Kingston Police seek dashcam footage from witness
Kingston Police are appealing to the public for witnesses following a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on June 4, 2025.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., officers from the Kingston Police Patrol Division responded to a serious crash on Bath Road between Portsmouth Avenue and Sir John A. MacDonald Boulevard. Investigators say a vehicle travelling eastbound crossed over the median into the westbound lanes and onto the sidewalk, where it struck a pedestrian walking on the north side of Bath Road.
The pedestrian was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died. The driver was arrested for impaired operation and taken to Kingston Police Headquarters.
Police are particularly interested in speaking with the owner of a Tesla vehicle that may have captured crucial dashcam footage. The Tesla was reportedly stopped at a red light in the eastbound lanes of Bath Road at Gardiners Road around 5:25 p.m., when a black Hyundai Elantra made an illegal maneuver, narrowly avoiding the Tesla.
Anyone with information or relevant video footage is urged to contact D/Cst. Jon Cerutti at 613-549-4660 ext. 6404 or jcerutti@kpf.ca. Anonymous tips can also be submitted by calling the general line and requesting anonymity.
