The vehicles are available for residents who don't own a car but need one occasionally.
Have car, will travel.
The City of Kingston have set up a car-sharing pilot program that see 17 vehicles available for use.
They said in a news release that there will be three more vehicles available at the end of the month with future expansion in 2026.
This is in partnership with Communauto, a subscription car-sharing service.
The car-sharing model sees users book a vehicle for short periods of time. They say it is a flexible option for those who occasionally requires a car to get around.
The City says the car-share vehicles will also help achieve several environmental benefits, including reduction greenhouse gas emissions by reducing the overall number of trips taken.
The car-share program is at ten locations in Kingston:
Rideau Heights Community Centre, 85 Maccauley St.
Anglin Lot, 1 Bay St.
Kingston Memorial Centre, 303 York St.
Springer Memorial Lot, 140 Queen St.
