Investigators say the accused is not a resident of Kingston nor is she a Canadian citizen.
An update on a sudden-death investigation in Kingston.
Police were called to an area along Albany Drive on July 27 about a suspicious death.
They discovered that a newborn baby died.
Investigators arrested Thi My Nguyen -- a 22-year-old woman -- last Thursday and was initially charged with interfering with a dead body.
They have since upgraded it to second-degree murder.
Investigators also say that Nguyen is not from Kingston nor is she a Canadian citizen.
She remains in custody after a bail hearing.
Investigators don't believe there was any threat to public safety.
