With the long weekend and a very hot, dry July now in the rearview mirror, many are looking ahead to what August has in store.
Environment Canada Senior Climatologist David Phillips says for the first week or so of the month, the days will all seem very similar.
With a dry July, Phillips says that also means there wasn't nearly as much severe weather when it comes to things like thunderstorms.
With that, also comes a large reduction in the number of tornados seen across Ontario.
As of late, smoke in the air is something that's been seen across Ontario - regardless of location.
Phillips says that's because this is one of the worst years for wildfires to our west.
Overall, Phillips says a wet spring followed by a dry summer hasn't been the worst for crops throughout Ontario, but he adds some more rain than we saw in July wouldn't hurt.
