Bryan Paterson says the city responded well to crises whether it was economic or social.
We are taking a look back at 2025 with Kingston Mayor Bryan Paterson.
The year saw a site chosen for a new hospital, more residential development being approved, and the recent approval of the expansion of the INVISTA Centre to include aquatic facilities.
Paterson also took time away from his duties as mayor to run for the Conservatives in the federal election this past spring.
Upon returning as head of council, he and city council had to make some tough decisions on the proposed new homeless shelter on Sydenham Rd, and the dissolution of the Kingston and Area Taxi and Licensing Commission.
But overall, Paterson believes a lot has been accomplished over the last 12 months.
He says, for one, the city has seen plenty of economic activity in 2025.
Paterson says there have been a couple of areas of concern that the city were able to respond to well.
Paterson says housing will be one of the key areas that they will focus on in 2026.
