Crews will return to neighbourhoods starting next Monday, with temporary collection rules in place.
Loyalist Township says Public Works crews got an early start on brush pickup due to extra debris from the recent ice storm. Crews will return to neighbourhoods starting next Monday, with temporary collection rules in place.
Residents may set out up to one half-ton truckload of general brush, like tree trimmings or rotten sticks. Storm-related brush beyond that may be picked up within reason.
All piles must be neatly stacked with cut ends facing the road and brush no thicker than four inches. The Township reminds residents not to combine brush with neighbours.
Excessive amounts will be assessed by staff, and homeowners will be responsible for removing any leftover brush.
Only storm debris qualifies under the relaxed rules.
Brush can also be taken to the Kingston Area Recycling Centre at 196 Lappan’s Lane in Kingston. Drop-off is free and available year-round.
Township officials ask for patience as cleanup efforts continue.
