People can leave unwanted items at the curb and other can take it with them for free.
This weekend will be the last opportunity for residents to find bargains and, at the same time, get rid of stuff you no longer need before the snow starts to fall.
The City of Kingston is holding their final Giveaway Day of 2026 this Saturday.
Any household with unwanted items can leave them at the curb. People can then pick them up and take it home with them free of charge.
Books, CDs, DVDs, clothing, furniture and small appliances, electronics, construction materials (including drywall, lumber, hardware), kitchen gadgets, dishes, cutlery, pots and pans are allowed.
Items that can't be put to the curb on giveaway day include: baby walkers, cribs, car seats, strollers, playpens, bath seats, mattresses, blinds and toys.
Items must have a sign or sticker attached them with the word "FREE". Any items left unclaimed must be returned inside.
Giveaway Day takes place several times throughout the year. This initiative aims to keep reusable goods out of landfills.
