The soul-blues artist is nominated for Blues Album of the Year, marking her second JUNO nod.
Kingston-based soul and blues artist Miss Emily has been nominated for Blues Album of the Year at the JUNO Awards for her latest album, The Medicine, marking the second JUNO nomination of her career.
Miss Emily says that she really appreciates the nomination.
The album has been praised for its emotional depth and powerful vocals, and was produced by Grammy and JUNO Award-winning producer Colin Linden. The nomination places Miss Emily among Canada’s top blues artists and highlights her continued rise on the national stage.
Emily talks about what her song "The Medicine" is about.
The JUNO recognition follows years of steady momentum. In 2022, Miss Emily earned her first JUNO nomination for LIVE at the Isabel, a live album created from six sold-out performances at Kingston’s Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts. The release challenged industry expectations and proved that live recordings could still earn top recognition.
Emily talks about how much she loves meeting new people along the way of her journey.
Over more than two decades, Miss Emily has built a reputation as a commanding live performer, touring across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Eastern Europe. She is a three-time Female Vocalist of the Year winner at the Canadian Blues Awards and was named New Artist of the Year in 2019.
With The Medicine now earning JUNO attention, Miss Emily continues to solidify her place as a leading voice in Canadian blues and soul music.
