Mark Gerretsen says there is new spending on veterans and defense.
The MP for Kingston and the Islands believes the federal budget will benefit all Canadians.
Federal Finance Minister Francois Phillip-Champagne tabled the long-awaited budget last Tuesday that will see 90 billion dollars in new spending.
Some of that money will go in to defense something Mark Gerretsen says will end up trickling-down to residents.
Gerretsen also says there will be funding going towards affordable housing in the region.
He also noted that the budget will also look at trade diversification to counter US tariffs.
With the Liberal government in a minority position, they will need members of opposition parties to vote in favour of the budget in order to ensure not only its passage but also to avoid an election.
Gerretsen, who serves as the government whip, isn't tipping his hand as to whether his government will have the votes when the budget bill comes up for a vote next week.
The budget projects a $78.3 Billion deficit for this fiscal year.
