Officials hope transit returns to normal
The City of Kingston extended its significant weather event declaration and overnight on-street parking ban as cleanup continues from yesterday's storm.
Crews remain active across the city, clearing ice from streets, sidewalks and bus shelters to improve safety.
Kingston Transit says normal routing was expected to resume this morning.
Residents preparing for waste collection are asked to make sure bins are free of ice that could prevent lids from opening during pickup.
The city-wide parking ban remains in effect on all streets from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m., with a stricter ban from midnight to 7 a.m. in areas surrounding Kingston General Hospital.
More information on winter parking rules is available on the City of Kingston website.
