The artwork by Abby Gowland spans 10 large panels above the Bagot St. entrance of the Robert Bruce Memorial Parking Garage.
A new mural now stretches across the Robert Bruce Memorial Parking Garage, bringing colour and meaning to the heart of downtown Kingston.
The artwork, titled Kingston in Motion, was created by local artist Abby Gowland. It spans 10 large panels on the Bagot Street structure between Brock and Princess streets. The design features digital illustrations of stylized figures, reflecting the daily rhythms of commuters and the nearby transit hub.
“This commission marks a significant milestone in my career as an emerging artist,” Gowland said. “It has been both formative and rewarding, and I’m proud to contribute to Kingston’s public art landscape.”
The piece was chosen through a two-stage selection process that drew 41 applicants. After public input, Gowland’s work was selected.
The mural was funded through the City’s Parking Operations department and managed by Arts & Culture Services.
