His winning design, featuring the message “Don’t play with matches!” now appears on Pumper 231 at Station 3.
A Kingston student’s artwork is now rolling through the city on a fire truck.
Max H. from St. Martha Catholic Elementary School was named the second winner of the Kingston Fire & Rescue October 2024 Art Contest. His winning design, featuring the message “Don’t play with matches!” now appears on Pumper 231 at Station 3.
Firefighters visited Max last week to celebrate his achievement. Kingston Fire & Rescue says his artwork will help spread an important fire safety message across the city.
The contest, supported by the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council, the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board, and the City of Kingston, encourages students to promote fire safety through art.
Kingston Fire & Rescue thanked Max for his contribution and invited the community to join them in celebrating his accomplishment.
Pumper 231, now decorated with Max’s design, will continue sharing his message wherever it goes.
