Kingston Police were among several forces involved in a major human trafficking arrest in London, Ontario.
On July 16, police charged Jarett Phillips, a 30 year-old, of Windsor after a two-month investigation led by the OPP’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit under the Intelligence-led Joint Forces Strategy (IJFS).
Police first learned in May 2025 that a person was being trafficked through online ads. A second victim was later identified.
Phillips faces four charges under the Criminal Code, including three counts of procuring and one count of communicating for the purpose of obtaining sexual services.
He remains in custody and is set to appear in court on July 21st in Ottawa.
The investigation involved police in Kingston, Ottawa, Hamilton, Peel, Toronto and London.
Officials say the case shows how important teamwork is when tackling human trafficking.
