The case is about how the Board handled the 12-year-old's brain injury that he apparently suffered on the school grounds in 2023.
A Kingston mother has filed two human rights complaints against the Limestone District School Board after her son was seriously hurt on school property.
The Kingston Whig Standard reports Jennifer Kehoe claims her 12-year-old son, Maddexx, suffered a brain injury in March 2023 while playing on school equipment.
She says the school failed to call her or provide proper medical care, allowing her son to walk home alone after being hit in the head.
Doctors later diagnosed Maddexx with a concussion, vision issues, and PTSD. Kehoe says the school also failed to support her son’s learning needs and removed her from a committee without consent.
The Limestone board says it disputes Kehoe’s version of events and will not comment further due to legal action.
Kehoe's first human rights complaint, filed in July 2023, is awaiting a hearing. Her second, filed in May 2025, relates to alleged reprisal.
Kehoe says she wants to see a change to help protect other students.
