The private donation event recognizes those killed or injured in the Alberta fire and continues a longstanding partnership with Canadian Blood Services.
Canadian Armed Forces members at CFB Kingston are coming together to donate blood in honour of those killed or injured in a fire at CFB Wainwright in Alberta.
The special mobile donation event will take place Friday at Canadian Forces Base Kingston, reflecting solidarity with fellow service members and the wider military community.
Canadian Blood Services says the event offers members a way to turn their compassion into action as the armed forces community mourns the tragedy.
The event also recognizes the longstanding partnership between the military and Canadian Blood Services. Since 2006, Canadian Armed Forces members have contributed more than 70,000 blood and plasma donations to Canada's blood system.
The organization says these donations help support patients in need across the country.
The event is not open to the public. However, Kingston-area residents can book their own blood or plasma donations through the Canadian Blood Services website at blood.ca, the GiveBlood app or by calling 1-888-236-6283.
Canadian Blood Services is a not-for-profit organization that provides blood, plasma and other services to patients across Canada.
