Some stolen property, drugs, and a vehicle was recovered by Frontenac OPP.
Ontario Provincial Police say a 49-year-old Kingston man is facing multiple charges after a break-in south of Westport led officers to a cache of stolen property.
Frontenac OPP were called to a cottage on Perth Road Sunday afternoon after a suspicious person was spotted on the property. Police say the suspect ran into the forest, leaving behind a vehicle that had been reported stolen.
Officers, including the OPP Canine Unit, searched the area and arrested a suspect just before 7 p.m.
Police say they recovered a significant amount of stolen property, including household appliances, power tools and camping and hunting gear, as well as a quantity of suspected methamphetamine.
Benjamin Frew, 49, of Kingston, faces charges that include possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, theft of a vehicle, possession of break-in tools, operating a vehicle while prohibited and multiple counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.
