Help support those in need!
Partners in Mission Food Bank is calling on the community to help tackle food insecurity with its annual “Food Blitz” on Saturday, April 12.
Volunteers will be stationed at 10 grocery stores across Kingston, collecting non-perishable food items and monetary donations.
The goal is ambitious—25,000 pounds of food and $30,000 in donations. High-priority items include canned meats, peanut butter, baby food, and larger-sized diapers.
In 2024, the food bank distributed a record-breaking 20,399 hampers, assisting 9,131 people.
The demand has surged, with one in 17 Kingston and Loyalist Township residents relying on food support, up from one in 19 the previous year.
Volunteers from local organizations, including Kingston Rotary groups and CFB Kingston, are rallying to make this year’s drive a success.
Donations can also be made online at www.kingstonfoodbank.ca.
