Saturday is Smoke Detector testing day

Kingston Fire and Rescue (KFR) reminds us that tomorrow is Test your Smoke Alarm Day.

Chief Fire Prevention Officer Ted Posadowski tells KingstonDaily,ca it's all about the basics.

Posadowski says its a good time to check if they're expired too.

KFR says education is the first line of defense in preventing fires at home.

To mark the day, Firefighters will be at the Kingston Community Health Centres Scarecrow Festival tomorrow remind Kingstonians to do those checks.
