Kingston developer surprises BGC South East with 100 scooters in major holiday donation

Patry Group teams up with partners to boost active play and support youth programs across the region.

The Patry Group of Companies is giving a major boost to holiday cheer in Kingston by donating 100 brand-new scooters to BGC South East. The gift, made possible through support from Patry Group, Brookland Homes and Microscooter Canada, aims to help children and youth stay active and engaged.

“Giving back to our community, especially during the holiday season, is at the heart of what we do,” said Jay Patry, owner of Patry Group. He said BGC South East continues to play a vital role in supporting young people across the region. He also says that they would like to promote more children playing outside rather than on tablets.

BGC South East serves more than 6,200 children and youth each year through programs in sports, science, arts, technology and recreation. CEO Harold Parsons says partnerships like this help the organization expand programs at its growing West End Campus inside the Frontenac Mall. Parsons says that this gift will make over a hundred kids happy over the holidays.

Parsons added that donations like the scooters encourage active play and provide meaningful experiences for local families during the holiday season.
