Kingston will mark National Indigenous Peoples Day on Saturday, June 21, with a free public celebration at Confederation Park from 1 to 6 p.m.
Hosted by the Kingston Native Centre and Language Nest (KNCLN), the event will feature live performances, workshops, storytelling and ceremony, all celebrating the culture and heritage of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples.
Highlights include the Aztec group Tocani, St Pierre drummers and singers, the Ward Brothers grass dancers, Kchi Tolba Two Spirit Drum, and R&B artist Noelle Maracle from Tyendinaga.
Kids can enjoy crafts, a climbing wall, and an inflatable corn maze, while food and craft vendors will offer Indigenous cuisine and handmade goods.
City officials and KNCLN leaders are inviting everyone to take part in this powerful day of connection and celebration.
