Police discovered the body last Thursday; three people including a Kingston man are charged with first-degree murder.
Human remains found on a Montague Township property have been identified as missing Smiths Falls resident Robbie Thomson, according to Ontario Provincial Police.
On October 30, OPP officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Kelly Jordan Road, where they discovered the remains. A postmortem examination confirmed the identity of Thomson, who was reported missing in October 2023.
Three people charged with first-degree murder in connection with his disappearance and death remain in custody.
Police say residents in the Kelly Jordan Road area, northeast of Smiths Falls, can expect to see an increased police presence as the investigation continues. However, there is no risk to public safety.
