The Lake Ecosystem Grant Program provides up to $10,000 to eligible groups for projects that make a positive impact on the environment.
South Frontenac Township is offering grants to organizations that want to make positive changes to the environment.
In a news release, the Lake Ecosystem Grant Program is designed to support projects focused on encouraging the preservation, restoration, monitoring and analysis of lake ecosystems within South Frontenac.
The Township says $10,000 is available to eligible projects.
They include ones that: reduce, or limit diffuse, point-source runoff caused by human disturbance of the land, create or increase shoreline buffer zones, protect or enhance wildlife habitat, or help with lake environment monitoring and data collection.
The grant program is open to lake associations and not-for-profit community groups.
The deadline for applications is Friday August 30.
