The team will wear special jerseys for their home game against Oshawa.
Remembrance Day may not be until next Wednesday, but there's a chance to show your respects for Canada's Veterans and active military in town tonight.
The Kingston Frontenacs are preparing for one of the most meaningful nights on their home schedule.
The annual Salute to Service game takes place Friday night at Slush Puppie Place, honouring members of the Canadian Armed Forces and Kingston’s long military history.
The Frontenacs will once again wear special CADPAT-themed jerseys for the game.
What’s Good with the Kingston Frontenacs co-host Jack Clark says this year’s event will go beyond the uniforms, with the Canadian Armed Forces helping shape the pregame ceremony.
Clark said even watching that rehearsal gave him a sense of how powerful the opening ceremony could be.
The annual event has become especially significant in Kingston, where the military has played a major role in the city’s history and identity.
Members of the Armed Forces are also expected to have a strong presence in the stands Friday night.
Tickets have been donated to local military families, while sections of uniformed service members are expected to attend.
Clark says the ceremony is being built with that audience in mind.
The Frontenacs say ticket sales were already approaching 4,500 earlier this week.
