First come, first served. Please be kind in line
Kingston residents can soon pick up a free Canadian flag, thanks to a new motion passed by City Council on April 1, 2025.
Starting April 25, about 300 flags will be available at five City facilities. They’ll be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis, with one flag per household while supplies last.
Residents can visit Rideau Heights Community Centre, Kingston East Community Centre, INVISTA Centre, Artillery Park Aquatic Centre, or the Clerk’s Department at City Hall to get theirs.
Flags are available during regular business hours. City Hall is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., while recreation centres are open seven days a week.
No holds or reservations are allowed. The City also reminds residents to be kind both online and in line.
