A new drive system is being installed.
The Frontenac Howe Islander ferry will be out of service on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, for a major upgrade.
The County of Frontenac says crews from the Ministry of Transportation and Timberland Equipment Ltd. will install a new drive system. The work will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
During that time, there will be no ferry service available.
Ferry crew will also be trained on the new system while the installation is underway.
Officials are thanking the public for their patience as the improvements are made.
Service is expected to resume as normal following the work.
