Almost $1.3 million has been raised for the new playground to be built at Shannon Park.
The federal government is putting in money towards Kingston's new accessibility playground.
The City of Kingston announced on Monday that they are receiving $125,000 from the Enabling Accessibility Fund.
The funding will support the development of the Jumpstart Inclusive Playground inclusive playground at Shannon Park.
In a news release, the playground will feature accessible play structures and transfer-free play equipment with rubber safety surfacing, ramps and sensory-friendly elements.
They say these enhancements will allow children and families of all abilities to enjoy a safe and engaging outdoor space together.
The funding brings the total raised through donations and public funding to build the accessible playground to around $1.3 million.
