The car flew by a crew that was working on a sewer line.
A driver is facing stunt driving charges after being caught speeding near road workers on Front Road.
On April 11, 2025, around 1:05 p.m., a Kingston Police officer was on extra-duty patrol near Lakeview Avenue. The officer was there to provide safety for a crew working on sewer lines.
That’s when they heard a car speeding toward them.
Using a handheld radar, the officer clocked the vehicle at 133 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone — while workers were present on the roadway.
Police say the officer pulled the vehicle over using lights and sirens. Due to the high speed, the car continued for another 400 metres before stopping.
The driver was charged with stunt driving under the Highway Traffic Act. Their licence was suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was seized for 14 days.
