The City is recommending the Patry Group be awarded the naming rights for the next 20 years.
Naming rights to a new water park along Kingston's waterfront that is still under consideration could soon be finalized.
A staff report will be presented to Kingston City Council on Tuesday (July 8th) that recommends the Patry Group be awarded the naming rights.
If approved, the new swimming dock and water play area located at the Flora MacDonald Confederation Basin will be called Patry Aquatic Park when it is expected to open in 2027.
In a news release, the real estate development group will pay $1 million in in-kind contributions in exchange for the naming rights for 20 years.
The City says staff have promoted the possibility of sponsorships and donations for the Confederation Basin Promenade Project through promotional flyers, onsite signage, public engagement sessions and features on the City's website.
City Council is considering building a new water park as part of improvements to the waterfront.
The proposed new water park will have a floating swimming dock and inflatable water park.
The project will also see an extension of the walkway from Battery Park along the existing break wall.
