It is the second broken watermain in the city this week.
There was another broken watermain in Kingston.
The rupture occurred on Ontario St near the Great Lakes Museum on Wednesday.
Water was seen covering the road as well as nearby parking lots.
Crews from Utilities Kingston arrived at around 10:30 to begin making repairs. Water service was shutdown to residents and businesses nearby.
Ontario St was closed between Lower Union and Gore to traffic. Work was expected to be completed by early Thursday morning.
The utility says those who experience water discolouration should run their cold water tap until the water becomes clear. They say the water is still safe to use.
There was a broken watermain in the area of Front Rd and Days Rd on Saturday. The intersection was closed until Monday as crews were fixing that break.
