A homemade license plate proved to be a dead giveaway for Kingston Police.
Members of the Community-Oriented Response and Enforcement unit were conducting patrol in the north end of the city last Friday.
They noticed a motorcycle at a gas station with a license plate that appeared to have been hand-written.
Investigators say the motorcyclist was seen walking away from the motorcycle after noticing the police officers.
A further investigation revealed that the motorcycle was reported stolen.
Officers went in and arrested the individual.
A 35-year-old from Kingston is facing a number of charges and was held for a bail hearing.
The stolen bike was later returned to its rightful owner.
