Thankfully, no injuries reported at Tata's Pizza and Pasta
A car smashed through the front window of Tata's Pizza and Pasta on Saturday afternoon, causing major damage but no injuries.
Police say the crash happened around 1:20 p.m. at 2561 Princess Street.
A 17-year-old driver was behind the wheel and has since been charged with Careless Driving.
Investigators say the vehicle drove directly through the window of the storefront, prompting an emergency response and a temporary closure of the business.
The owner of the vehicle was also charged under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act for allowing the vehicle to be operated without valid insurance.
While no one was hurt, police say the business will remain closed until experts can assess whether the building is still safe to enter.
Kingston Police continue to investigate the crash. Anyone with information or video of the incident is asked to contact police as the file remains open.
