Students will be meeting with officials in Napanee, Loyalist and South Frontenac Townships.
Canadian Armed Forces students will be in Greater Napanee, Loyalist Township and South Frontenac Township on Wednesday between 8am and 4pm as part of a hands-on disaster response training exercise.
KingstonDaily.ca spoke with Major Gina Lloyd, who says three small teams of four to six students will visit local municipalities to meet with pre-arranged community partners, including mayors, police chiefs and emergency officials.
The training is meant to ensure that CAF members know who to contact and where key services are located before they ever need to respond.
Major Lloyd says this is purely domestic, cooperative exercises. No one will be armed and there will be no military equipment involved.
Several international students will also take part, each accompanied by a Canadian member.
Locals are welcome to stop and speak with the teams if they wish.
