Another couple of years before delayed Kingston ferry dock is opened: MPP

Ted Hsu has asked the Auditor General to investigate what is causing the delays.

It may be a few more years before the new Kingston ferry dock will be in operation.

The dock was to accommodate more travellers who take the Wolfe Islander ferry between the Marysville dock on Wolfe Island and the terminal in downtown Kingston.

Kingston and the Islands MPP Ted Hsu says the Kingston dock was suppose to have opened a couple of years ago.

Hsu has written to the province's Auditor General, Shelley Spence, about the delays in construction of the new dock.

He has asked for an investigation but says that too may be delayed.

Hsu says the AG is already booked up for investigations in 2025 but he will continue looking for answers.

In his letter to Spence, Hsu wants to look into the project's management and oversight as well as financial accountablity.

He says he has also reached out to the contractors and the Ministry of Transportation.

Hsu says the delays has created hardship for residents living on the island as well as visitors.
