The board ranks in the top 12 for graduation rates out of 72 school boards across the province.
The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board is highlighting strong graduation results that place it among the top school boards in Ontario.
The board ranks in the top 12 for graduation rates out of 72 school boards across the province. It also ranks fourth among all English-speaking school boards in Ontario.
According to the board, its four-year graduation rate for the 2020–2021 school year reached 91.4 per cent, once again exceeding the provincial average.
“These graduation rates demonstrate our commitment to prioritizing programs designed to support students who are at risk of not graduating,” said Sonya Melim, Superintendent of Education. “Through a tiered system of intervention and individualized programming, the board ensures that every student receives the support they need to achieve success.”
To earn an Ontario Secondary School Diploma, students must complete 30 credits, including compulsory and elective courses, pass the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test, complete 40 hours of community service, and finish at least two online credits.
The board says it remains committed to supporting students on their path to graduation and beyond.
