Kuzma scored his 8th goal of the season in a 3-2 overtime loss.
Slush Puppie Place hosted it's yearly "School Day Game" Wednesday morning with a total of 5,558 people in attendance for the Kingston Frontenacs game against the Ottawa 67's.
Unfortunately, despite all of the support the Frontenacs fell 3-2 in overtime.
The student's energy and cheers brought on lots of excitement for the crowd.
The Frontenacs started off strong with a 2-1 score in the first period, with Maleek McGowan shooting a short-handed shot 5:08 in and Andrew Kuzma coming in at the last minute for their second goal. The Ottawa 67's scored a power play goal halfway through the first period.
Both teams put up a good fight in the second period with the Frontenacs having 6 shots on goal while the 67's had 10. No successful goals were made in that period.
3rd period was tied up leading the teams to go into overtime with the Ottawa 67's scoring the winning shot 19 seconds in.
Coach Troy Mann says that it was a close game.
Mann says they were short-handed heading into overtime, making it difficult for them to get any momentum.
Despite the loss, Kingston has points in their last five games.
The next game for the Frontenacs is at 7:00pm this Friday against the Peterborough Petes at Slush Puppie Place
You can always catch the game on Upper Canada Fuel and Burner Frontenacs Hockey on New Country 98.9 with Jim Gilchrist on the call.
