Some laid-off as review continues
The Integrated Care Hub (ICH) in Kingston is working to safely reopen its doors following a temporary closure caused by a police investigation.
The site was vacated quickly after the deadly attack nearby that left two dead one seriously injured.
The closure resulted in the layoff of staff who provide site-specific services.
ICH released a statement saying partners are focused on reopening with clean, secure, and fully functional facilities. Cleaning and pest remediation are underway, along with planning for new site access. This includes adjusting service flow with new fencing in place around the property.
The ICH team has praised staff who continued to support clients during the closure by pivoting to an outreach model and helping people retrieve belongings.
A reopening timeline will be shared with the community once it’s confirmed. In the meantime, immediate help is available through the AMHS-KFLA Crisis Lines at 1-866-616-6005.
The ICH thanks everyone for their patience and support as they work to restore their life-changing services.
