United Way KFL&A’s annual Coats for Community drive runs until Nov. 17.
As the temperature drops, United Way KFL&A is asking the community to help keep people warm through its annual Coats for Community drive, running from October 25 to November 17.
Residents are encouraged to donate clean, new or gently used adult winter coats that are washable and in good condition. Donation bins are available at the United Way office, Kingston City Hall, and branches of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library and Lennox & Addington Library.
Last year, more than 1,300 coats were collected and quickly distributed to local agencies. “Our caring and compassionate community always steps up,” said John DiPaolo, United Way KFL&A president and CEO.
Amanda Brierly with Kingston Home Base Housing said a warm coat “can mean the difference between survival and suffering.”
Financial donations are also accepted to help buy specialty sizes and fill gaps. More information is available at unitedwaykfla.ca/coatsforcommunity.
