The week-long campaign will start on Monday
Someone could be knocking on your door asking for donations to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation.
The foundation is re-launching their door-to-door fundraising campaign.
Starting Monday and running throughout the week, trained canvassers will be going to homes in the Kingston area sharing the news on how small, consistent gifts can have a life-changing impact in the community.
They have set a goal of signing up 750 monthly donors by the end of the year.
In a news release, all canvassers are trained professionals from GlobalFaces Direct and will be easily identifiable with official ID badges.
Canvassers will carry tablets with encrypted software to allow for safe, secure transactions.
There had been concerns in the past about people knocking on doors claiming to be representing the foundation. (https://www.kingstondaily.ca/news/the-kingston-top-3/uhkf-hopes-to-calm-nerves-about-canvassers-going-to-homes/)
The foundation suggests people call a toll-free number (1-833-341-0106) to verify a canvasser's identity.
The door-to-door campaign will reach homes from Odessa and Amherstview in the west to Gananoque in the east.
They say medical equipment and programs not covered by the government and monthly donors are the quiet heroes behind every hospital stay and recovery story.
