Expert dishes out advice for holiday food cravings.
The month of December can be considered a bit of the “wild west” when it comes to food rules for most people.
What can start off as a cookie here and an extra plate there can quickly turn into, “Well… I’ll be going to the gym in January anyway.”
That was registered dietitian Emily Szatrowski.
She says most people don’t start December with this mindset. In fact, many enter the month with the opposite approach — setting a goal of eating healthy all the way through the holiday season.
Szatrowski says that whether you’re beating yourself up and trying not to eat anything unhealthy, or swinging to the other extreme and eating copious amounts of food, the solution usually lies somewhere in the middle.
