A worker setting up a detour was hit
A commercial truck driver was charged after hitting a highway maintenance worker on Highway 401 in Kingston.
It happened at 6:15 a.m. The worker had just set up a detour at the Gardiners Road exit when the truck, towing a car carrier, failed to follow the detour and struck him.
The worker, employed by Green Infrastructure Partners, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
The truck driver, a man from Cambridge, Ontario, is charged with careless driving causing bodily harm.
The maintenance work was due to another serious collision near Odessa.
The driver will appear in court in Kingston at a later date.
