An ice rink is going to be built at Springer Market Square but it won't be open to the public.
The rink is being installed next week as part of filming for a Netflix series.
The City of Kingston, in a news release, says WildBrain, a Toronto-based media and entertainment company, is in town to shoot the scenes. Much of the filming will take place at Springer Market Square and at Slush Puppie Place between Nov. 7 and 14.
During the production, there will be security on site 24-7. The rink will be removed once filming is completed.
They say the Kingston Public Market will not be affected by the production. It will be open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Slush Puppie Place will be used as a secondary location from Nov 9 to 13 and will not impact programs that are scheduled to take place there.
