Dress for Success Kingston launches Glamour for Grad to provide free dresses and styling support this April.
A new program in Kingston is helping students celebrate graduation and prom with confidence.
Dress for Success Kingston has announced Glamour for Grad, an initiative offering free prom and graduation dresses, accessories and styling advice to local students. The event will take place in April 2025 and aims to remove financial barriers so students can focus on celebrating their achievements. Executive Director, Lindsay MacDonald gives us the details.
Participants will be able to choose a dress, receive styling tips and connect with community resources to help plan their next steps after high school.
MacDonald says donating a dress from a past event that is no longer being used could help ease the financial stress many graduating students face.
Organizers are also calling on the community to donate gently used prom or grad attire. Donations are being accepted at Cataraqui Centre Guest Services on the lower level and at Dress for Success Kingston, located at 700 Dalton Ave.
Those interested in donating or learning more can visit Dress for Success Kingston's website for details. https://kingston.dressforsuccess.org/
