St. Lawrence College received high marks as one of the more sustainable post-secondary institutions in the world.
They were announced as a top performer in the 2025 Sustainable Campus Index by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE).
SLC received a score of 58.84 on AASHE’s STARS rankings.
The results were based on its cumulative performance in six categories: Academics, Engagement, Operations, Planning and Administration, and Innovation and Leadership.
Each university and college is measured in 13 impact areas.
In a news release, SLC says this re-enforces their commitment to integrating sustainability in curriculums and research and to ensuring that students and staff have the opportunity to further sustainability initiatives and engage in sustainability efforts.
They say the college is improving its sustainability practices by reducing emissions, enhancing recycling processes, and responsibly managing the biodiversity of its outdoor spaces.
