Quick detective work by Kingstonians discovered the star's presence
Canadian actor and producer Ryan Reynolds caused a stir on Monday when he posted from a fake profile in a Kingston Facebook group, asking for Tragically Hip tourism destinations.
Later that day, he shared a photo of himself in front of the iconic Tragically Hip Way sign downtown.
Kendra Amy, a group member, quickly pieced the clues together, revealing that the profile was linked to Reynolds. Amy posted: “Brad M Murphy posted in the group yesterday and Linda Lee sent him a photo of the street sign! Today, Ryan’s Facebook story is of the Hip sign! Hope you enjoyed your visit, Ryan.”
After the reveal, Amy joked that she would have gladly joined Reynolds for the selfie.
The Kingston Frontenacs even got in on the hype too, suggesting that if "Brad" was still in town, they could help with their Hip memorabilia inside Slush Puppie Place.
The actor’s visit to Kingston, a city closely tied to the legendary band, was met with excitement from fans and locals alike.
