Repairs to the CNR track will shut down a section of Bath Rd. next week.
A section of a very busy road in Kingston will be closed to traffic.
The City of Kingston announced on Monday that Bath Rd. between Centennial Dr. and Portsmouth Ave. will be closed from Aug. 26 to 30.
They say the closure is in order to make repairs to the CNR track as safely and quickly as possible.
Crossing that one set of track, which connects the main CN line to the INVISTA plant, has become a very bumpy experience for motorists, some even slow down when approaching the crossing.
It was also the scene of a pair of train derailments in 2020.
The City says there will be local access to residents and businesses at Armstrong and Queen Mary roads.
They say Kingston Transit buses will also be diverted during that time.
