Officers will be out patrolling highways, trails, and lakes.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are reminding people to stay safe on the roads and waterways this Labour Day long weekend.
The OPP's Bill Dickson says officers will be out patrolling highways, trails, and lakes, focusing on behaviours that often lead to serious collisions and injuries.
Another top concern is passengers not wearing seat belts. Parents are also reminded that children must be secured in the proper booster or child restraint seats.
On the water, safety is also a major concern. This summer has already seen a high number of drownings.
At beaches, parents should keep children within arm’s reach.
The OPP’s goal is simple: zero tragedies this weekend.
