A Kingston man is one of eight facing charges.
A Kingston man is facing charges stemming from an OPP investigation into fraudulent commercial drivers exams.
Members of the Serious Fraud Office were looking into suspected irregularities in the driver examination process for commercial Class A licenses in Ontario in January 2024 at the request of the Ministry of Transportation.
The investigation revealed that bribes were taken in exchange for favourable consideration during specific applicants' road examinations for commercial Class-A licenses.
They say the fraudulent activities were committed in Kingston and the Greater Toronto Area.
A total of eight people were arrested and charged. One of them is a 54-year-old man from Kingston, three are from Brampton, and one each in Oshawa, Georgetown, Caledon and North York.
All were released from custody and will be making court appearances in Toronto on Thursday.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information on this is asked to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
