688 animals had been adopted, surpassing the organization’s goal of helping more than 500 animals.
The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society is celebrating a successful holiday adoption campaign after helping hundreds of animals find new homes across the province.
The Home for the Holidays adoption campaign ran from Dec. 1 to Dec. 24 and focused on finding families for animals of all ages. This included senior pets and long-term shelter residents who had been waiting months for adoption.
By the end of the campaign, 688 animals had been adopted, surpassing the organization’s goal of helping more than 500 animals. As a result, hundreds of pets spent the holiday season in safe and loving homes.
The Ontario SPCA says the milestone highlights the compassion of adopters across Ontario and the impact community support can have on animal welfare.
While the campaign has ended, many animals are still waiting for homes. The organization encourages those looking to adopt to visit ontariospca.ca/adopt.
For those unable to adopt, the Ontario SPCA says year-end donations help provide care and shelter for animals still in its care. Donations can be made at ontariospca.ca/donate.
