This is part of $60-million investment to strengthen public health programs.
The South East Public Health Unit will receive $11,653,800 as part of a $60.09-million provincial investment to strengthen public health programs across 29 Public Health Units in Ontario.
The announcement was shared by Steve Clark, MPP for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes, on behalf of Health Minister Sylvia Jones.
The funding will support initiatives aimed at improving community health, disease prevention, and public health programming.
The investment reflects the provincial government’s commitment to ensuring that local health units have the resources needed to respond to emerging health challenges and maintain strong health services for residents.
Clark said the investment demonstrates the government’s focus on protecting the health and well-being of Ontarians.
Residents of the South East Public Health Unit region are expected to benefit from enhanced programs and services in the coming months.
