More buses added to several routes that will take effect September 1st.
There will soon be more transit options for those who do shift work or enjoy a late night out on the town.
Kingston Transit will have a new late-night route running between the Cataraqui Centre and First Canada Ave. at Division St. via Barrie and Brock, Queen's University, St. Lawrence College, and Kingston Centre starting Sept. 1.
The new service will run every night from 12 midnight to 3 am.
In a news release from the City of Kingston, the changes will increase access throughout the city to shift workers and other customers by offering trips beyond typical travel hours.
With the return of students to Queen's and SLC in September, Kingston Transit also announcing that they will be increasing the frequency of service on several routes :
- Route 4 and Express 501/502 will provide 15-minute or better service along Princess Street until 9 pm
- Express 501/502 will provide 15-minute service weekdays until 7:30 p.m. and during select periods on weekends
- Express 601/602 weekend service will resume with Route 60 operating on weekends when the LaSalle Causeway is closed
- Express 701/702 will provide 10-minute service during weekday morning and afternoon peak periods from Cataraqui Centre to downtown
These service improvements will also take effect on Labour Day.
